The PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 17.2 is now available for
PUBG players who are playing on console (yes, one of those being Xbox).
With the new 1v1 Arena in Training Mode, players can finally
claim who is the best in the squad, while also discovering enhancements to the
Spotter Scope and balance changes to 5.56mm Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR)
and the Mortar.
PUBG Update 17.2, which is already live on PC, brings the following to console...
1v1 Arena in Training Mode: The 1v1 Arena has been completed
and is now accessible in Training Mode for all forms of combat practise in a
thrilling 1v1 environment. Players can compete in 1v1 rounds against an
opponent or watch heated battles to see who is the greatest in the squad.
Spotter Scope Update:
The recent Patch Notes revealed that the Spotter Scope would
be getting some significant and little updates soon. The Spotter Scope and its
automatic features of tagging and following adversaries continue to work
exceptionally well, bringing our gamers more stress than enjoyment. As a
result, the opponent detection range has been lowered from 1000m to 600m, and
the white passive marker will no longer appear in ADS mode automatically.
Please consult the patch notes for a complete list of changes to the Spotter
Scope.
Weapon Balancing:
The 5.56mm DMRs, notably the MK12 and Mini14, have been
updated in Update 17.2. Players found it difficult to operate the MK12 after
the damage-related update, therefore its recoil recovery value has been
increased to match the Mini14's stability. Damage on the Mini14 has also been
boosted from 47 to 48. The team has gathered significant player input since the
debut of the Taego-only Mortar weapon and has chosen to make improvements to
unlock its untapped potential. Except when the deploy angle is not secured or
on water, the Mortar can now be deployed on any terrain. In Normal matches, the
weapon will be available on all maps except Haven, and it will now take up an
inventory slot.
You probably already know that you'll need a copy of PUBG:
Battlegrounds on Xbox or PlayStation to play the update. Download the Xbox
edition from the Xbox Store — it's completely free to play, so there's no
reason not to.
