Iman Vellani, Marvel's first Pakistani heroine actress, will
play Ms. Marvel in her freshly launched TV series. Vellani recently came on a
chat programme to discuss how she got the part of Ms. Marvel.

The 19-year-old actress said she got the casting call through a forwarded WhatsApp message from her aunt, and it's her first acting job since high school. She initially thought it was a ruse, but she went ahead and applied for the job nonetheless. When Marvel called and asked to fly her to Los Angeles, she couldn't believe it (LA).
Later, on a Zoom call with Marvel, film producer and Marvel
Studios President Kevin Feige personally informed Vellani that she had landed
the main actress role in Ms. Marvel. He further stated that the decision was
made unanimously by the team.
Because of its rising popularity among movie stars and the
Hollywood community, WhatsApp is sometimes referred to as the "Hollywood
messaging app." Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow, the
female leads of Friends, one of the most successful television shows of all
time, have a Whatsapp group where they remain in contact. Similarly, the cast
of Spiderman and the Bridgerton Brothers communicate via Whatsapp groups.
Vellani met other notable superhero performers such as Tom
Holland (Spiderman) and Brie Larson after getting her part (Captain Marvel).
Ms. Marvel will premiere on Disney+ in Pakistan on June
16th.
