Through an enhancement of the green screen function, YouTube producers may now remix any video on the platform into a Short.

Previously, you could use green screen to make Shorts out of existing YouTube videos.

You may now use any YouTube video as the background for a short film.

You may overlay film of yourself on top of the backdrop video using a green screen effect.

This function is frequently used to react to or offer commentary on other videos.

It can also be used in a comic context. You might, for example, superimpose yourself over one of the characters in a well-known video.

With the green screen effect, there are now more choices than ever before for making innovative short movies.

YouTube Shorts + Green Screen

A YouTube spokesperson stated in an announcement:

"Green Screen is the newest method to remix using Shorts, and it's a follow-up to Cut, which was released last month. You may utilise any qualified YouTube video or Short as the background for your unique Short film using Green Screen."

You'll be able to use other YouTube videos with or without sound.

To utilise Green Screen, go to the movie you wish to use and choose Create > Green Screen from the drop-down menu.

Alternatively, pick Green Screen from the 3-dot option in the Shorts player.

You have a maximum of 60 seconds to create with.

When their material is remixed into a Short, creators will receive full credit for the original video, which opens up a whole new audience for them.

Music videos and other media with visual claims are the only types of material that cannot be sampled.

You may opt out of having your content utilized in a Short by changing an option in YouTube Studio.

Green Screen is now available on the iOS YouTube app in stages. It will be available to everyone on iOS and Android in the coming months.
